The role and responsibilities of the chairman are as follows:
A) The executive power of the Union Council is vested in the Chairman;
B) The responsibility for managing all the functions of the Union Council rests with the Chairman of the Union Council;
C) Conducting the day-to-day administrative work of the Union Parishads
D) Supervision and control of council staff;
E) exchange of all the letters of the Union Council;
F) Notification of Union Council.
The functions and functions of the Chairman of the Union Council are divided as follows:

1.Developmental functions
2.Administrative functions
3.Public relations functions
4.Tax and budget related functions
5.Legal functions
6.Other responsibilities and duties.
1. The following are the developmental activities
A. Coordinating, supervising and managing all the developmental activities of the Union Parishads;

B. Preparation of all local development plans of the Union;

C. Provide assistance and support for the implementation of rural-to-rural (RMP) food-for-work (FFW) and other physical infrastructure development projects.

D. Supervision and control of council staff;

E. Exchange of letters of intent with the Union Council;

F. Notification of the Union Council.
